An English Philology major in her 20s, reading more or less obsessively. Leave house without a book? Not happening. Because philology doesn’t get you reading enough, minors in Comparative Literature – and Film and Television Studies, for the adaptations.
Favourite authors include but are not limited to Scott Lynch, Ellen Kushner, Jane Austen, Oscar Wilde, Sir Terry Pratchett, Mark Lawrence, Patrick Rothfuss, Hannu Rajaniemi, Georgette Heyer and Anne Rice.
Some of my favourite books would (consequently) be The Lies of Locke Lamora, Good Omens, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Swordspoint, and anything by Miss Austen.
Since I also review films, it might be in order to mention a few of my favourites in that field: The Serpent’s Kiss, Lords of Dogtown, The Usual Suspects, Moulin Rouge, Sunset Boulevard, any number of Disney movies, anything by Quentin Tarantino… The list goes on. I also devour TV movies and mini series adapted from classic works of literature, and some other period pieces.
